Coronavirus [COVID-19] Infection Prevention & Control Policy

For

Susanne Saville Beauty Clinic

We hope everyone is keeping safe and well and we are sending our very best wishes to you all during the coronavirus [COVID-19] pandemic.

After reading the Government’s recovery strategy, it has been confirmed that we will not be allowed to open before 4th July at the earliest.  Whilst this is sad news, it is also sensible.  We will be following COVID-19 guidelines on our re-opening.

We have missed being able to offer you the treatments that we know you love, and we are looking forward to seeing you again soon.

Our priority is to keep you as safe as possible, and prior to re-opening the salon we have implemented a number of changes which we would like to make you aware of.  During the time the salon has been shut, we have all completed the Coronavirus [COVID-19] Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of  Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry.  We have since made a number of changes in the way that we operate that you will notice when you next visit.

Booking Appointments
If any of our therapists feel ill or have symptoms of COVID-19, they will self-isolate immediately and not come into the salon.  This may mean that we have to cancel your appointment at short notice.  We appreciate that this may be inconvenient but it is done entirely for your own safety.  If your appointment is cancelled we will try and rebook your next appointment as soon as possible.

If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of COVID-19 – please advise us as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO THE SALON FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT.  We have amended our booking terms and conditions and you will not be charged for any appointments which you miss due to illness of yourself or others in your family.

Visiting the Salon
For your safety and to maintain social distancing, we ask that you attend your appointments as close to the appointment time as possible.  Please do not turn up early for appointments as this may mean that you come into contact with other clients who are just leaving.

At 1st floor reception, please take a new pair of overshoe covers from our pedal bin and put them on before entering the treatment room [although anti-slip, please take care]  Before leaving the salon please deposit used overshoe covers in the other pedal bin reserved for this purpose, situated in the  1st floor reception.

We have increased the frequency of cleaning in the salon including making sure that all common surfaces, door handles etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant products between each client.

All tools and equipment will be disinfected and/or sterlised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety before and after each client.

Wherever possible we will utilise environmentally, friendly, single use items during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from cross infection.

You will have access to soap and hot water to wash your hands with as soon as you enter the salon and disposable toweling to dry your hands.  We will also have hand santiser available for you to use when you come into the salon.

We will understand and not be offended if you wish to wear a facemask or wear disposable gloves when you visit the salon and during your treatment if this is appropriate.

Please don’t be surprised or upset if our therapists use personal protective equipment [PPE] during your visit and during your treatment.  This may include, disposable gloves/facemasks/face shield/glasses/aprons where appropriate.

We can confirm that the laundering of salon towels and uniforms is a priority.  We can assure you that all salon laundry is washed at 60 degrees C.  Beds will be fully covered with disposable bed toweling.

All disposable items are safely removed and binned immediately from the treatment area after each client  and safely disposed of each day.

Our Treatments
We have carried out a risk assessment on all treatments and we are confident that we can continue to provide these safely.  We will be following Government guidelines on those treatments that cannot be provided until further notice.

During your Treatment
Our therapists understand the importance of hand hygiene and we will ensure that we wash  our hands in accordance with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment.

We will try to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible.  If you have any concerns about your treatments please let us know and we will do what we can to satisfy you and make you feel safe.

After your Treatment
If you are able, please pay by card to minimise contact.

We intend to leave intervals between treatments so that you do not have to come into contact with other clients.  This also gives us time to carry out our cleaning/sterilising procedures.

All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and that of our therapists.  We will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.

Thank you for your patience and understanding

Susanne, Katie, Rose, Angie and Natalie
